Mint Green and Coral (Peach/Salmon) - It's Ba-ack in a Big 80s Hair Sort of Way

I like reading Orlando Soria's "Hommemaker". It's a very funny, informative home decorating blog. He recently posted about the return of palm tree prints. A few days later, just by chance, I was watching a very retro Shelly Long movie, Troop Beverly Hills (circa 1989), and there was a scene in it that had the troop "camping" at the Beverly Hills hotel and the wallpaper in the room was - you guessed it - palm tree.

Screen captions of the overlooked Troop Beverly Hills movie - starring Shelly Long and lots of awesome 80s stuff, including huge shoulder pads and those awesome walls! And what is up with that cigarette holder?!
And then I was checking out the new website for Zara Home and wouldn't you know it, but more palm tree prints!

From Zara Home USA.
So what I'm saying is that the Palm Tree print is back - along with many other items from the (gasp) 80s - in a new and updated way (thank God) of course. Have you noticed all the mint green and peach (well now it's coral because it's brighter)? It's all over fashion and all over decor.

These are my favorite items and rooms that hail back to this decade shoulder-padded decade. It's hard for me to say that since that's my youth we are talking about and it was just a couple of years ago, right?!

Gorgeous doors. I absolutely love them from World of Driftwood. This is some serious color inspiration!

Pretty, beachy living room from Country Living.

I love the pop of color from the chairs from Newly Domesticated.

I kinda really like the mint green. Hope somebody wants it in a room and asks me to help - hint, hint. ;-)
