Modern + Outdoors

Where I live, school is finally over the summer as of today. Now we have 10 weeks of summer to enjoy. We've lived in our house for over 10 years, and we have gone from a completely blank slate of a back yard, to patio spaces, a small pool area and a gorgeous garden - I'm not bragging because my mom did almost all of it.

So if you are trying to enjoy this short-lived summer and spend time outside, I have found some pretty, modern outdoor spaces that might inspire you. And if you don't have a big yard, that's OK. I found some small spaces that still totally rock!

Love the bench with the built-in fire. Some pillows and all set.

A wired arbor is such a great idea. Perfect ceiling fan.

Condo outdoor living - love the row of pots.

Incorporated the outdoor living into the architecture of this house, instead of adding it as an after-thought.

This is pretty, though getting to the seats might be a bit precarious.

Nothing missing here.

Keeping it simple so the views rule.

So simple - love the sealed concrete floors. Might do well with just a couple of additional accessories.

The strings of lights rule. Makes an ordinary night seem more magical.

No matter the size of your patio, potted plants should always be included.

Small, neat yard. Sometimes less really is more.

Love the tiled floors.

I love the awnings. And I like the stone with the pavers.

Large stones are a great way to deal with a difficult hill-side. Hmm. Might need to consider something like this.

Again, just because you have a condo doesn't mean you can't have a great outdoor space.

You had me at the wire chandelier.

Love the stone face used - kept the look very modern.

Small yard? Yes. Lots of style? Definitely.

So zen.

Tin roof on the arbor provides lots of shade from the sun.

I don't know about you, but I have some great ideas for my outdoor living. Hope you saw something that inspired you too. Now go get your sunscreen and sunglasses, and enjoy the sunshine!
