This home speaks to me of old villas in the French or Italian countryside. High terraces, limestone walls, a towering limestone fireplace, a 163" tall 19th Century iron door from Italy, an antique walnut trestle table flanked by antique French chairs all help to give this home the feel of a manor home overlooking a lake at the foot of the Alps. I certainly did not expect to find it in South Carolina (no offense), yet that is where this gorgeous Lake Keowee home was carefully built. So respectful of it's environment (designed to meet USGBC LEED Home standards), it appears to have been there for centuries - or at least decades.
The interiors are elegant, classic and timeless. Bravo! It's nothing short of amazing!

What do you think? Do you agree that this home feels very European? I love it - I really do. It's a spectacular home.
I hope everyone was able to stay safe and warm during Winter's last hurrah out here in the East Coast.
